Vaishnav R Potty and Sreedhin B S from S4 BCOM represented the GCAS NSS Unit in the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day Programme organised by the National Service Scheme State Cell and Government of Kerala at Women’s College, Trivandrum on 15th June 2024 at 10.00 am.

International Yoga Day 2024

In connection with the International Yoga Day, the National Service Scheme Unit of Gregorian College of Advanced Studies organised a ‘Live Yoga Session’ today (21-6-24) at the Campus from 9.30 am to 10.30 am. The event was conducted in association with College Women’s Cell and GCAS Health Club. The Yoga session was handled by Mr. Santosh Benet (renowned Yoga trainer). Rev. Fr. Joseph Chacko (College Administrator), Dr. R. Gopakumar (Principal, GCAS), Mr. Sabarinath S (NSS Programme Officer), Ms. Shari S (Asst. NSS Programme Officer), Ms. Keerthana KS (Convenor, College Women’s Cell), Ms. Manjusha Mohan J (Co-ordinator, GCAS Health Club), selected NSS Volunteers and members of the Women’s Cell and Health Club marked their presence at the event.

Mr. Abimon SJ represented the GCAS NSS Unit in a Three Day Residential Volunteer Leadership Training Programme organised by the NSS, University of Ker

Mr. Abimon SJ, from S4 B2 BCOM successfully represented the GCAS NSS Unit in a Three Day Residential Volunteer Leadership Training Programme organised by the National Service Scheme, University of Kerala at T K M College of Arts & Science, Kollam from 21st to 23rd June, 2024.

The Programme was aimed at developing the leadership qualities of students through different interactive sessions and was inaugurated by Dr. Anzar R. N, State NSS Officer, Government of Kerala. Abimon was presented with a Certificate for completing the Programme.

World Environment Day 2024

In connection with the observance of World Environment Day, the National Service Scheme and the NCC Unit of Gregorian College of Advanced Studies, Alathara, Sreekariyam, Thiruvananthapuram organized a Sapling Planting Drive and Clean-Campus Campaign at the Campus. The event was inaugurated by the Manager His Grace Dr. Gabriel Mar Gregorios Metropolitan at the College Campus at 1.30 pm on 05.06.2024.

The College Principal Dr. R Gopakumar ,the College Administrator Rev. Fr.Joseph Chacko, Dr. Sheela Irin Jayanthi (Associate Professor of History), Dr. Binu Johnson (HoD, English), Mr. Sabarinath.S (NSS Programme Officer), Mr. Arun Viswanath (the NCC Officer), Smt. Navami B (NCC Caretaker) and the Volunteers of NSS and the Cadets of NCC took part in the Programme.

The 75th Republic Day Celebration

In connection with the 75th Republic Day, the National Service Scheme Unit of Gregorian College of Advanced Studies organised a Flag Hoisting Ceremony and Campus Clean-Drive programme on 26th January at Campus at 9.00 am. The National flag was hoisted by Dr. R Gopakumar (Principal, GCAS). Following the ceremony, the NSS members actively took part in the cleaning campaign and collected scrap materials from different parts of the Campus. The scrap was then sorted into garbage bags for disposal and recycling.

The programme concluded at 11.30 am, following which refreshments were provided to the volunteers. Mr Sabarinath S (NSS Programme Officer), Mr Jishnu S Nair (College Union Chairman) and NSS Volunteers marked their presence at the event.
