The winners of GCAS Intercollegiate English Speaking Competition receiving Prizes from H. G. Dr.Joshua Mar Nicodimos Metropolitan, H.G Dr. Gabriel Mar Gregorios (the College Manager) and Dr. R. Gopakumar (the Principal) from the Prize Distribution Ceremony in Holy Trinity Church, Ulloor on 21 July 2024. In the absence of the Intercollegiate English Elocution Competition First Prize Winner, Mr. Soju C Jose, his brother, Mr. Shibin receiving the Cash Prize of Rs 3000/-. Second Prize Winner, Ms. K.J. Indraja, receiving the Cash Prize of Rs 2000/- and Third Prize Winner, Mr. Rohith Aji Cherian, receiving the Cash Prize of Rs 1000/-.

Nine Cadets from Gregorian College of Advanced Studies took part in Vivekam-2024 ,a Youth Colloquium organised by Thiruvananthapuram Ramakrishna Ashrama on 21 July 2024 at Udaya Convention Centre from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The event, inaugurated by Padmashri Aswati Thirunal Gowri Lakshmi Tamburati, aimed to inspire the young generation with the transformative ideals of Swami Vivekananda. Brigadier Anand Kumar, Group Commander of NCC Kerala, delivered an inspirational message to the youth. The Cadets who participated were Devika S, Hanna Ani Johnson, Shinsha Saheed, Aparna A R, Joyal John, Jishnu K Madhu, Alok V S, Adhithya Krishnan from B.Com, and Tom C Jinu from Economics. The Cadets found the experience both enriching and empowering.

In honor of the 25th Commemoration Year of our Revered Founder H. G. Geevarghese Mar Dioscorus Metropolitan, the Department of English, in collaboration with the Literary Club, hosted an Intercollegiate English Elocution Competition on Wednesday, 17th July 2024, at 10 AM in the Seminar Hall of GCAS. The Inauguration Ceremony commenced with a soulful prayer song performed by the S4 English Students, followed by a warm Welcome Address by Dr. Binu Johnson, Head of the English Department. The Inaugural Address was delivered by the Principal, Dr. R. Gopakumar in the esteemed presence of the Administrator, Rev. Father Joseph Chacko. Following an engaging competition, Mr. Muraleedharan S., Assistant Professor of the English Department, announced the winners of the Competition. Among the seven talented participants, Mr. Soju C Jose, a second-year B.Sc Physics student from the University College, clinched the First Prize. Ms. K.J. Indraja, a second-year B.A English Language and Literature student from Vigyaan College of Applied Sciences, secured the Second Prize, while Mr. Rohith Aji Cherian, a second-year B.Com student from Gregorian College of Advanced Studies, earned the Third Prize. All participants received well-deserved Participation Certificates. The event was efficiently coordinated by the dedicated faculty members of the English Department and concluded with a gracious Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. Sabarinath S., Assistant Professor of the Department of English.

GCAS Inter-Departmental 3’s Football Tournament: The Department of Physical Education conducted an Inter-Departmental 3’s Football Tournament at the GCAS College ground on 13-7-2024 from 9.30 am to 1.00 pm. The Department of Economics emerged as the winners of the Tournament. The Commerce and Psychology Departments won the Second and Third Prizes respectively. The event was organised by Mr. Arun Vishwanadh, Head, Dept of Physical Education.
