The oath-taking ceremony of College Union 2024-25
The oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected College Union Executive Committee members was held on 24th October 2024, at 2:30 PM, at the main entrance of Gregorian College of Advanced Studies. Mr. Adhithya KN, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, served as the anchor for the event, ensuring a smooth flow of the proceedings. The ceremony began with a Welcome Speech delivered by Mr. Muraleedharan, Assistant Professor, Department of English. He welcomed all dignitaries, faculty, students, and the newly elected members, expressing his appreciation for the democratic process and extending best wishes to the new union committee. Ms. Usharani RD, who acted as the Returning Officer, proceeded to introduce the union members. She announced each member along with the post they were elected to, providing a clear understanding of the leadership structure of the new committee. The most important segment of the event was the Oath-Taking Ceremony, which was administered by Dr. R. Gopakumar, Principal of the college. The elected representatives jointly took the oath, pledging to perform their duties with integrity, dedication, and a sense of responsibility towards the college community. Dr. Gopakumar, in his address, congratulated the members and reminded them of the importance of their roles in fostering unity and a positive environment within the campus. The ceremony continued with a Felicitation by Dr. Binu Johnson, Head of the Department of English. He commended the efforts of the students during the election process and encouraged the new committee to be proactive leaders, emphasising the value of teamwork and commitment. The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Ms. Sarada Devi, Assistant Professor,, Department of Economics. She expressed sincere gratitude to all the dignitaries, faculty members, students, and staff who contributed to the success of the event. The oath-taking ceremony was a memorable and significant occasion, symbolising the commencement of a new era of student leadership at Gregorian College of Advanced Studies. It ended on a hopeful note, with everyone looking forward to a successful and dynamic term ahead.
