The 76th Republic Day
In observance of the 76th Republic Day, the National Service Scheme Unit of Gregorian College of Advanced Studies organised a Flag Hoisting Ceremony on 26th January at the College Campus at 9.30 am. The celebrations commenced with the hoisting of the National flag by Dr. R Gopakumar (Principal, GCAS). Following the ceremony, the NSS members organised ‘Thaliru’, a special ‘Edutainment Programme’ for the children of Holy Trinity Balabhavan and Balikabhavan, Alathara, Sreekariyam from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm. The Programme, divided into two Phases, started off with a thrilling Soft-Skill based game named ‘Pictionary’ hosted by NSS Volunteers Mr. Harikrishnan and Mohammad Moosa of S3 English, and Anjitha, Aarsha and Aleema of S3 Psychology. In the Second Phase, Mr. Sreedhin B S imparted the event a patriotic fervour by engaging all the children in a ‘National Flag-making tutorial’. After the conclusion, refreshments were provided to all the participants and volunteers. Along with the Principal, Mr. Sabarinath S (NSS Programme Officer), Sister Hanna (Faculty Member, Mar Dioscorus College of Pharmacy), Sister Jolly (Caretaker, Holy Trinity Bhavan), Mr. Sreedhin B S (College Union Chairman) and selected NSS Volunteers marked their presence in the event.
